Readers should be mindful of a change in the timing of the three week sale recess this year when compared with last season. During 2023 the majority of the sale recess occured in July whilst in 2024 the majority of the three week sale recess fell in the month of August.
When comparing State data with the previous season, readers are reminded that the Key Test Data records the State in which the wool was sampled for testing rather than where it was produced. With the establishment of a major wool warehouse in Victoria during 2024 a sizable proportion of the wool produced in the States of South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland is now transported to Victoria for sampling and storage.
